You are invited to attend Dr. Steven J. Stack’s Emergency Medicine Grand Round presentations, “The Role of the Physician in the Opioid Abuse Epidemic,” and “Physician Activism in Health Care Policy,” on Thursday, August 25, 2016, 8:00 – 10:00am, in PAV A Auditorium. Dr. Stack is an emergency physician residing in Lexington, Kentucky, who became the 170th president of the American Medical Association in June 2015. Board-certified in emergency medicine, Dr. Stack currently practices in Lexington and surrounding central Kentucky.
Dr. Stack has served as medical director of multiple emergency departments, including St. Joseph East (Lexington), St. Joseph Mt. Sterling in Mt. Sterling (rural eastern Kentucky) and Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. He is the first emergency medicine board-certified physician to serve on the AMA Board of Trustees (BOT).
