Just your average thrill seeking outdoorsy EM Resident. When I'm outside of the hospital I'm probably hanging onto the side of a rock at the Red River Gorge, building something in my garage, or hanging out with co-residents. I'm a very active guy and always have some sort of project going on at home. Emergency Medicine was an easy choice for me with it's fast pace, medical diversity, hands on procedures, and just the fit overall with personalities in the department.
After rotating here I knew I found my "fit" with the program here. The residents are a tight knit family that "work hard and play hard" spending lots of time together inside and outside of the department. When I rotated I admired how confident and competent the residents at UK were. The upper level residents and attendings actively teach during every shift. Lexington is a great city to train in with no lack of medical pathology diversity, as well as plenty to do outside the department (live music, craft beer/food, and UK sports).
Rock Climbing, mountain biking, backpacking, building things/woodworking, drinking beverages... and basically any sport
